Structured literacy and Orton-Gillingham tutoring informed by a background in speech-language pathology.
Helping kids unlock reading confidence with language-based support
Meet Kacie
Hi, I’m Kacie, a speech-language pathologist with a lifelong passion for helping kids succeed. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and my master’s in Speech-Language Pathology. I am an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist, licensed in New York and California, and an Associate Level certified practitioner in the Orton-Gillingham approach.
My main passion is supporting students with dyslexia, and what sets my approach apart is that I am first and foremost a speech-language pathologist. Dyslexia is fundamentally language-based, and as an SLP, I have expertise in language development, speech, and literacy skills. On top of that, I bring specialized training in Orton-Gillingham, which allows me to provide targeted, evidence-based reading intervention. This combination means I’m not just a tutor or a therapist; I bridge both worlds. I use my understanding of language to address the root of reading challenges while providing structured, systematic instruction.

Testimonials
Hear what my past clients have to say!
"As a result of his dyslexia, my grandson struggled with reading and writing throughout elementary school. Thankfully, he had the opportunity to work with Kacie starting in fourth grade. Before working with Kacie, he labored to comprehend words and dreaded reading, especially out loud. His reading scores were well below grade level.
Kacie is both engaging and friendly. She is a patient teacher and takes the time to connect with students on a personal level. She used the Orton-Gillingham method systematically to teach skills with great results.
Within a year, my grandson’s reading scores have risen significantly. He has more confidence reading aloud and his comprehension has been boosted. We are thrilled with his progress after he struggled for years with minimal results.
We highly recommend Kacie as a reading tutor. She is approachable, dedicated and will help your child become a more confident, capable reader."
"My 11-year-old son has dyslexia, and before working with Kacie, he struggled with reading and spelling and had low confidence in his abilities. Since working with her, his progress has been remarkable. His reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension and spelling have all improved in ways I honestly didn’t think were possible in such a short time.
Kacie’s use of the Orton-Gillingham approach is structured and individualized to his needs. She is patient, fun, encouraging, and knowledgeable about dyslexia. She knows how to break skills down in a way that makes sense to him. He is more willing to read, more willing to try, and far less frustrated.
I have seen how transformative the right instruction can be, and I highly recommend her to any family looking for effective, evidence-based support for a child struggling with reading, spelling, or dyslexia."
